[wink] Keep
So we got him, and I got right down to fixing him up. Well, it wasn't like there was something else for me to do.
This is a Pullip Namu Vispo:

I'm not a fan of the Pullip Namus. I only got Vispo because he was meant to be my first lobotomy subject. (I mean to get Trunk in the future because I fell for a certain Trunk online, but I needed a doll to lobotomise and experiment on first, and since I didn't like Vispo, he was bought.) Sadly, my Withered suffered the fate of being the first lobotomised subject and now it seems she'll never ever be the same again. *sigh* But well, anyways, so I got the Namu I didn't expect myself to like or fall in love with. *grin*
Vispo doesn't look any better in person. Or when he was out of the box... His head is a different color compared with the body. O_o

But lordy...there are other things to like about him, if not the face!

He stands!!! He stands!! *_*

I'm sorry, but you have no idea how much I like dolls which are able to stand on their own. *_* And to find out that the Namu stands so nicely, even with that large head... Good lords. How can I not like them?! *_* Not to mention they have a pretty nice body as well. ^_^

They have such wonderfully stiff joints. And ankle balls~! Ah~! How I appreciate stiff ankle balls~! *grin* The Namu body is pretty similar to the Volks Neo Go Guy bodies... Though the Namus have those shoulder joints, and that separate neck joint. I must also say I do enjoy how secure and strong the Namu neck joint (the one that connects the head) is!! *_* OMG. Compared to Withered and Noir's, I don't have a fear of the neck joint breaking! It's just amazing. *_* The new female bodies now have neck joints like the Namu, don't they? I just wish they weren't on the soft bodies. -_-
Oooh...a pose while standing naked~! Hohohoho~!

My poor Keep though. His lower legs near the ankle seems to have been burnt by the twisties holding them in place. O_o Goodness. Either that or the twisties melted. Eeps. >_<

Ah well. The poor guy. No Pullip I've received so far have been perfect. *_* There's always a flaw or two in them. *grin* At least he'll feel at home with the others. ^_^; He's got such nice nice nice feet~! *pats them*
So anyways, after the inspection, it was time to take out the handy new cutter of mine and scalp poor innocent Keep. And this time, the scalp wasn't as glued in the way Withered's was. *_* So I just used the blade to cut through the glue. And I cut through a bit of the scalp at the back and then, just pulled it out, complete. O_O Man. It was amazing how easy it was to pull off Keep's scalp compared to Withered's scalp, which I had to totally cut off. -_-

For Withered, I wasn't able to preserve her flange, the rubber part that fits into the trench around the head. So I can't use her scalp on her unless I find a way to stick it on her head. T_T For Keep, I can unroot his head and fit his scalp back on. *sigh*
This be the back of the Pullip head:

Here it is from the top view. You can see the trench the flange of the scalp fits into:

Here's the head without the scalp:

I'm thinking his eyebrows will be redone since they aren't my style. But they were painted very well. And I really, really, really like how they painted around his eyes! It's lovely. *_* White outlining on the double eyelid line and under the eyes... And the tip of his eyelids were painted with a line of brown too. Really nice work done on Vispo.
So here is our new boy Keep with one of the wigs I own:

And another normal wig:

So anyways, unscalped, the next step was to change the eyes. This is a pic of the inside of the front of the head. The eye mechanism is pretty nifty:

Here's a view sideways:

And here's them eye mechanism thing out of the head:

I like the eyes. They've got an interesting color. But for some reason, the lens is a sticky rubber type of thing. O_o It was dusty, and it will attract more dust, I bet. Ew. So no, they might look pretty but I won't be using them much. I used my other (too small) 20mm pair of acrylic eyes. Luck would have it that I happen to own two pairs of gorgeous 20mm eyes that no one could use until I got the Pullips. *sigh* But well, I'm hoping to get my 22mm and 24mm eyes to try on them and see which size I like best. Hopefully, I'll be able to find good-looking eyes in the size I like. -_-
So anyways, new eyes in:

Here's Keep!

Keep looks nice with his new eyes on... although.. Is there any way you can alter the 20/22 mm eyes so that they work with his eye gimmick? Maybe create those long posts using air-dry clay or sculpy?
I'm really torn on the Namu face... I really like what you've shown of the body, but something about the chin and cheekbone area bugs me. I think I've gotten too used to my little big dolls and their lack of chin. :p
adorable, I love Namu's new eyes and especially the pink wig, so sweet. The Namu profile is adorable. Seeing this makes me want to operate on my Namu.
Emi, I never thought of trying to fit the acrylic eyes into the eye mechanism. It kinda seemed like too much trouble to be worth the effort. But I'm pretty sure you can use sculpy or something else to fix posts onto the eyes so that they will work.
Gods. You've just described what I don't like about the Namus. It's that damn chin. -_- I dislike long chins. T_T OMG. I keep imagining how Keep will look with his chin shaved. *sigh* But I doubt it can be done. -_- I just wish the Pullips weren't such a different color compared to the Namus. Then I could so easily (and happily) use a Pullip head on the Namu body. T_T Serpent looks like he could be as pale as the Pullips. *crosses fingers* Lordy. If he is, I'm gonna get me a few more of him. Haha. Just for the damn body. *_* Then I just need to find out if the new Pullip girls have head posts as large as the Namus. Hohohohohoho~! (My Withered's hole at the base of her head is too small to fit around the Namu neck post. -_-)
Jess, if you do customise your Namu, I'd love to see what you do with him~! ^o^
